No, Evangelicals do not believe in purgatory. Purgatory is a doctrine within Roman Catholicism that teaches that after death, souls undergo a purification process before entering heaven. Evangelicals, on the other hand, believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone and that believers go directly to heaven upon death. They do not believe in the need for a purgatorial state. **

Yes, there are liberal and moderate Evangelicals. While Evangelicalism is often associated with conservative beliefs, there is a growing movement of liberal and moderate Evangelicals who hold more progressive views on social and political issues. These individuals may prioritize social justice, environmental stewardship, and inclusivity within their faith communities. They may also be more open to reinterpreting traditional theological doctrines in light of contemporary understandings. While they may be a minority within the larger Evangelical community, their presence and influence are growing. **

It is not accurate to categorically label evangelicals as more extreme than Catholics. Both groups encompass a wide range of beliefs and practices, and there are individuals within each group who may hold more extreme views. Additionally, it is important to engage in respectful dialogue and understanding when discussing religious beliefs and practices. **

Among evangelicals, Christian fasting is typically seen as a spiritual discipline that involves abstaining from food or certain activities for a period of time in order to draw closer to God, seek guidance, or demonstrate repentance. Fasting is often accompanied by prayer and meditation on scripture. It is believed to help believers focus on their spiritual life, deepen their relationship with God, and develop self-discipline. Fasting is not seen as a way to earn salvation, but rather as a way to grow in faith and dependence on God. **

Fasting is also seen as a way to demonstrate dependence on God and to show commitment to living a life of faith and obedience. **

Catholics and Evangelicals have historically had theological differences and disagreements, but it would be inaccurate to say that they do not get along. While there may be tensions and disagreements on certain theological issues, many Catholics and Evangelicals have found common ground in their shared beliefs in the core tenets of Christianity. In recent years, there have been efforts to foster greater understanding and cooperation between the two groups, particularly in areas of social justice and moral issues. Overall, while there may be differences, there are also many instances of collaboration and mutual respect between Catholics and Evangelicals. **

Evangelicals, on the other hand, tend to focus more on celebrating birthdays and other significant religious holidays. Ultimately, the observance of name days varies among individuals within these faith traditions. **
